The DPS-200, DPS-300, DPS-500/500DC, DPS-600, and DPS-700 redundant power supplies (RPS) are designed to conform to the wattage requirements of D-Link’s Ethernet and Gigabit switches. They are external RPS units enclosed in solid metal cases with sockets to AC or DC power sources on one end, and connect to a switch’s internal power supply on the other end. They provide a low-cost, simple solution to the problem of an inadvertent failure of the internal power-supply of an Ethernet switch, which can result in the shutdown of that switch, the devices attached to its ports, or an entire network. Supporting full output power for the switch, these redundant power supplies can maximize the power availability of the switching device. Redundant Power Backup Each D-Link RPS is equipped with an integrated detection circuit that continuously monitors the switch’s internal power supply. In the event of a power interruption, the redundant power supply is immediately triggered so that the LAN switch and its connected devices can continue providing service. This results in a more reliable network infrastructure and protects the network from going down due to failure of a single network device power supply. Easy and Flexible Deployment Deployment of a DPS series device does not require any change in the configuration of the LAN switch. With the exception of the DPS-500DC, each RPS is equipped with a universal internal power supply, and can be connected to any AC power source from 90 V AC to 264 V AC, 47 Hz to 63 Hz through a standard AC power cable. The DPS-500DC provides the same output power as the DPS-500, but connects to a DC power source instead of an AC power source. Rack Mounted Power Supplies: DPS-600/700 The DPS-600 and DPS-700 are 19-inch standard-size rack mount power supplies designed to improve flexibility in supporting PoE (Power over Ethernet) equipment. The DPS-700 also supports 1+1 power capabilities. When cascading the DPS-700 with a device’s internal power supply, the power system can provide an additional power budget to the device.

D-Link’s 10G SFP+ Module series are hot-swappable SFP+ transceivers that plug into SFP+ slots on switches and support 10G Ethernet. The D-Link 10GBASE SFP+ Module Series transceivers offer customers a wide variety of 10G Ethernet connectivity options for data centers, enterprise wiring closets, and service provider transport applications. Enhanced Small Form-factor Pluggable FormatThe transceivers use the Enhanced Small Form-factor Pluggable format (SFP+). The SFP+ form factor is smaller than other form factors such as Xenpak, X2, and 10G XFP, ensuring lower costs, lower power disruption, and higher port density. They provide the necessary signal amplification for data to be transmitted to the network cable from the port, and vice versa, for the port to receive data from the network cable. Hot PluggableAll D-Link transceivers are hot-pluggable. You can connect a transceiver while the system is powered on without causing any problems. This permits modules to be added or removed without interrupting the network. 10G Ethernet speedsThe transceivers all support 10G Ethernet, which results in very fast data transmissions of up to 10Gbit/s. This is 10 times faster than Gigabit Ethernet and enables the switch to handle faster and higher data transmissions, making it very suitable for business needs. Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM)Several of the 10G SFP+ Modules feature DDM real-time monitoring of critical parameters, including transmitted and received power, temperature, and voltage. This allows for convenient monitoring of the module’s fiber connection and early detection of problems. Bi-directional WDM transmissionBi-directional WDM transmission allows data to be transmitted simultaneously in both directions on a fiber cable. This helps you save on the cost of deploying extra fiber cables as well as allows for more flexible bandwidth allocation.
The DWS-3160 is D-Link’s latest Unified L2+ Gigabit Wired/Wireless Switch. Designed to be the idealmobility solution for medium-sized and large enterprises and service providers, the DWS-3160empowers administrators to exercise total control over their wireless networks by centralizing allaspects of provisioning and management. Able to manage up to 64 D-Link Unified Access Points by itself and up to 256 in a switch cluster, the DWS-3160 can be configured to act either as a Wireless Controller in the core network, or as an L2+ Gigabit Switch at the edge, enabling it to be seamlessly integrated into any existing network infrastructure.Simplified ManagementThe DWS-3160 is able to centralize all critical WLAN management, thereby eliminating the need tomanage access points individually. The administrator simply assigns a profile to an individual D-Link Unified Access Point, and the configuration corresponding to that profile would be applied onto that access point automatically. In addition, the DWS-3160 can apply new firmware to all D-Link Unified Access Points on the network, thus greatly simplifying the upgrade process. Besides its wireless capabilities, the DWS-3160 also excels as an advanced L2+ switch. Complete with RIPv1/v2 dynamic routing, ACL security, multilayer QoS, comprehensive VLAN support, as well as Multicast Snooping capabilities, the DWS-3160 enables easy and flexible deployment. Furthermore, multiple DWS-3160s can form a Switch Cluster, which enables the administrator to configure all switchesfrom one single Cluster Master. As the size of the cluster grows, so can the number of D-Link UnifiedAccess Points being managed. Up to 256 D-Link Unified Access Points may be managed by theSwitch Cluster. This helps to significantly simplify management and reduce maintenance efforts when a network is scaled up.Trusted SecurityThe DWS-3160 offers a state-of-the-art Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS), which empowers administrators to detect Rogue Access Points and Rogue Clients, effectively preventing them from causing damage to the network. The administrator can also activate various threat detections and use Radio Frequency Scan to sweep the entire wireless network to identify any possible security breach in advance. When working in conjunction with D-Link Unified Access Points, Virtual Access Points may be easilyconfigured and managed, allowing the administrator to assign different access privileges to differentclasses of users. In addition to WPA and WPA2, an added measure of protection is added with an advanced captive portal, thus enabling only authorized users to utilize the wireless network. On the wired side, the DWS-3160 utilizes Access Control Lists to tightly control what goes in and out of the network by setting up a number of simple rules. Along with other advanced security features, such as 802.1X Network Access Control and advanced Denial-of-Service Protection, the DWS-3160 provides robust and centralized security, ensuring maximum network reliability.Network ResiliencyWhen a number of access points are deployed close to each other, interference may result if proper RF management is not implemented. The DWS-3160 is aware of how the radio spectrum is being utilized in the network and will automatically assign the most optimized channel to each access point under its management. This greatly reduces RF interference and will allow the administrator to deploy APs more densely. To further minimize interference, when a number of access points are operating on the same channel within close proximity of each other, the DWS-3160 will reduce the transmission power of these access points. When, for whatever reason, there is no longer so many access points present, transmission power will be increased to expand network coverage. To ensure that no access point is overburdened while others sit idle, the DWS-3160 will prevent certain D-Link Unified Access Points from accepting new association requests if its resources are fully utilized. A neighboring D-Link Unified Access Point will instead pick up the load. This ensures that proper load balancing is in place, and the network will function in the most optimal state.Seamless MobilityWireless clients can enjoy seamless and uninterrupted roaming from AP to AP if they are managed by the same DWS-3160, even if they are not in the same subnet. Because the DWS-3160 employs various mechanisms such as pre-authentication and keycaching, wireless users can freely roam the entire network without needing to re-authenticate. This allows tablet and smart phone and netbook computer users to travel freely within any premise covered by the DWS-3160’s managed APs without having to worry about network connectivity, thus enabling for a truly mobile workplace.

Professionals with the benefits of Power over Ethernet (PoE), even when other devices in the network do not support it. With PoE technology, low voltage DC power and Ethernet data signals are combined on a single network cable, which facilitates powering of end devices like IP Cameras, wireless Access Points (APs), and VoIP Phones. This reduces cable clutter, eliminates the need for dedicated electrical outlets on the wall, ceiling, or other unreachable places, reduces installation time, and lowers costs. The DPE-301GI device supports Gigabit speeds, and can connect to 10Mbps, 100Mbps or 1000Mbps through the RJ-45 interface. This device also supports the IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at PoE/PoE+ standards, which ensures interoperability with other standards-based PoE and PoE+ devices. Small and compact, the DPE-301GI is lightweight, has integrated mounting slots, and is easy to install. The DPE-301GI provides a power and data connection to a PoE device over a single network cable. It allows I.T. Professionals to mount their PoE devices virtually anywhere in a building, such as on ceilings or near entryways, and eliminates the need for nearby power outlets and attached power supplies. The DPE-301GI combines electrical power with a Gigabit network connection and produces a Gigabit PoE signal, allowing a single Ethernet cable to carry both data and power to a device. Also known as a “midspan PSE”, the DPE-301GI PoE injector can be used when deploying a multi-port PoE switch is impractical or not feasible. It has two 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports. One port is for LAN IN, which is the network connection, typically connected to a non-PoE switch or router. The other port isfor PoE OUT, which is the connection that provides both power and data signal to the end device (PD). The DPE-301GI can be located anywhere on the Ethernet link, although it’s typically placed near the switch/router. Location of the injector does not impact the maximum 100m (328ft.) distance from the switch/router to the end device. Support for IEEE 802.3at ensures the DPE-301GI can power PoE+ devices up to 30W, such as high power 802.11ac APs and IP cameras with PTZ motors, heaters and blowers. PoE Injector and PoE Splitter Tandem Both the DPE-301GI (injector) and DPE-301GS (splitter) can be used together, as a complete PoE transport system. This is especially useful when a PoE switch is not available, and the end device is not PoE capable, but the Network Administrator still prefers the benefits of PoE. Simply install the injector close to the network switch, install the splitter close to the end device, and plug in the cables.
